About Me
1986, I launched my career studying nursing at TSTI in Harlingen, TX. After two years of study, I transferred to CCRI in Providence, RI, where I changed majors and received an Associate of Arts Degree in Human Services with a Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling. From there I went on to Rhode Island College, also in Providence, RI, where I double majored and received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Bachelor of Social Work Degree. After moving to Maine, I attended the University of Maine, Orono, where I received my Master of Social Work Degree. I have worked in the fields of mental health and the addictions for nearly 18 years in various settings and levels of care. I have a special appreciation for cultural diversity having lived in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Rhode Island and now Maine which I have made my permanent home. I am married to a retired U.S. Coast Guardsman sharing one daughter, a son-in-law and six grandchildren who also live in Maine. My husband share our home with four feline companions as well. I enjoy snowmobiling, fishing, camping, sea kayaking, scrapbooking and my work.
I am proudly a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and
the National Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC)
